Accessibility at Pinkas
Pinkas is made for whole families, including relatives who are less comfortable with technology. Here is what the product supports today and how to make it easier to use.
Accessibility is ongoing work. Pinkas does not currently claim formal conformance with a particular accessibility standard.
Larger text and clearer reading
- Use your browser's zoom controls to enlarge every Pinkas page: Ctrl and + on Windows, or Command and + on a Mac.
- Pinkas layouts reflow on smaller screens so text can remain readable without a desktop computer.
- Controls use visible labels wherever possible instead of relying on icons alone.
Keyboard access
Interactive controls are designed to be reachable by keyboard. Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move, Enter or Space to activate a control, and Escape to close most dialogs.
If you find a place where focus disappears, the reading order is confusing, or a control cannot be used without a mouse, please report the exact page and task.
Audio, video, and transcripts
Family recordings can keep transcripts beside the original audio or video. Computer-generated transcript drafts remain drafts until a family member reviews them. Families should add captions or a confirmed transcript before sharing a documentary with someone who needs them.
Languages
The family workspace supports English, Hebrew, and Yiddish, including right-to-left layouts for Hebrew and Yiddish. Family-authored names, stories, captions, recipes, and transcripts stay in the language in which they were written; Pinkas does not silently translate them.
Tell us where access breaks down
When reporting an accessibility problem, include the page, device, browser, and assistive technology you were using. You never need to include private family material in the report.
