Data Ownership & Export

Your family's archive belongs to your family. Pinkas is a home and a set of tools for the record, not the owner of the record.

A stopped payment does not erase a family's history. Cancellation and deletion are deliberately separate choices.

Originals remain originals

When Pinkas creates a thumbnail, transcript draft, printable book, or other useful version, the source file remains the source file. Generated outputs do not replace it.

Family context—who contributed an item, where a date came from, and whether someone confirmed it—travels with the record wherever the feature supports that information.

Downloads and full exports

Authorized family members can download individual media and request a family archive export from Family settings. The export includes structured family data plus original stored media. Very large exports may arrive as one data-and-manifest ZIP with numbered media ZIPs.

Export download links are private and expire after seven days. Make your own secure backup after downloading. Guest contact details and sensitive guest needs are excluded from the ordinary family export.

If a plan ends

Cancelling Pinkas Archive stops the next annual renewal. At the end of the paid period, the family archive becomes read-only: family members can still view, play, download, and export what is already there. Renewing restores active contribution and organization tools.

If the family deletes the archive

Pinkas stores the archive until the family owner asks to delete it. A verified family-archive deletion revokes access and removes records and stored object versions; backup copies disappear through the normal backup rotation. Pinkas cannot restore a completed deletion.
