Frequently asked questions

Pinkas FAQ

Short answers to the questions families usually ask before they begin.

Do I need to organize everything before I start?

No. Start with one useful thing: a person, a photograph, a family date, or an interview. The archive becomes more valuable as relatives add what they know.

Is my family archive public?

No. A family creates a private space and chooses its members. Public Pinkas pages explain the product; they do not expose family archives.

What is the difference between a member and a guest?

A member joins the family archive with an assigned role. A contributor can submit material for review. A guest link gives access to one narrow task, such as one RSVP or upload collection, without opening the archive.

Can AI change my family history?

AI suggestions remain labeled and require a family decision. Transcript drafts, possible duplicates, and suggested connections do not silently become confirmed facts.

Can we take our material out?

Yes. Authorized family members can download individual originals and request a structured family archive export with stored media.

What happens if we cancel?

Cancellation stops renewal; it does not delete the archive. After paid access ends, the archive becomes read-only and remains available for viewing, downloading, and export.

Can we delete everything?

The account owner can delete the family archive. Export first: completed deletion is permanent and cannot be recovered by Pinkas.
