A family project
Give a parent the gift of being heard
Plan a thoughtful conversation for Mother's Day, Father's Day or a day that matters to your family.
When to begin
Prepare 4–6 weeks ahead; agree on a comfortable day and a short first session.
Use the date observed by your own family and community. Work backward from that date; the project can stay small.
Your project
- Invite the parent to choose a topic and decide whether to record.
- Pick five questions, then follow the story instead of the list.
- Leave room for pauses and ask before sharing a recording with others.
- Send a transcript or notes for review and arrange a second conversation only if wanted.
Start with one useful resource
Keep the result together
Store the original, the source and the sharing permission with the finished record. Ask one relative to review it before inviting a wider audience.
