Copyright and intellectual property

Families keep ownership of what they contribute. Pinkas protects that ownership while also protecting the software and editorial material that make the service work.

Your family's material

Your family retains its rights in its photographs, recordings, stories, recipes, documents, names, dates, and other archive material. Uploading something gives Pinkas only the limited permission needed to store it, show it to authorized people, and make the output your family requests.

Respect other people's rights

Only upload or share material you have the right to use. A physical photograph may belong to your family while the copyright in the image belongs to a photographer or studio. Ownership of the object and ownership of the creative work are not always the same.

Pinkas material

The Pinkas software, brand, question library, editorial prompts, layouts, and product designs remain the property of Pinkas or its licensors. A family may use them to create its own archive and outputs, but may not resell or redistribute them as a competing product.

Report an infringement

To report material you believe infringes your rights, email hello@familypinkas.com with your name, the work you own, the Pinkas location or family involved, why the use is unauthorized, and a way to reach you. Do not send more private family content than is necessary. Pinkas may ask for identity or authority verification before acting.
