Start by finding existing testimony and recording its archive reference and access terms. If a new interview is wanted, consult specialist guidance and let the narrator lead its scope.
Who owns the decisions?
Keep permission for family access distinct from permission for education, exhibition, or publication. Retain the original recording beside transcripts, translations, and selected excerpts.
What to measure
Success is a documented chain from the original testimony to any later use, with the narrator's wishes respected.
