Old Photo Identification Worksheet
Create a photo record that keeps visible clues, family recollections, uncertain identities, and the original's location separate.
Your result will appear here. You can download it without registering.
How to use this tool
Record writing on the back separately from your interpretation. Keep the original image and an image of the reverse. Use a working copy for annotations so that the source image remains available.
A practical example
Use a label such as Album A, page 4, photograph 2. Record 'possibly Aunt Rivka' as an uncertain identification and name the relative who suggested it.
Common questions
Will this identify faces?
No. It creates a structured worksheet for people to record and compare evidence. It does not perform face recognition.
Should I write on the original?
Use a separate worksheet or digital description for these notes. Follow appropriate conservation guidance for handling and labeling physical photographs.
Keep the next step small
Take the result to one relative, check one source, or organize one small collection.
