How to use this tool
Begin with the date of death, not the date on a civil anniversary reminder. Enter burial information when your first-year custom uses it. Adar and short-month rules vary; use the choices supplied by your family or rabbi. An unresolved 30 Adar I case is flagged instead of guessed.
A practical example
January 7, 2020, before sunset is 10 Tevet 5780. The 5787 anniversary falls on December 20, 2026, beginning the previous evening.
Common questions
When does the yahrzeit begin?
Each result shows the daytime civil date and the previous evening. Local sunset depends on location and season; exact sunset times are not calculated here.
Is this a religious ruling?
No. The output follows the customs you select. Confirm uncertain death times, delayed burial, Adar, and missing-day questions with your rabbi before relying on the schedule.
