Choose a few items and collect each reply with its source. Return corrected captions to the family and keep unresolved questions open.
An example to follow
Ask 'Who is the person on the far left?' and include the item's identifier. This prevents a helpful answer from becoming detached from the right photograph.
Keep the record useful for the next relative
Save the original item or recording, the source of each claim, and the date you added the note. Label estimates and disputed details. Decide who should have access before inviting other people to help.
