Organize yahrzeit reminders for the whole family
A shared yahrzeit list works best when every date has a source, an owner, and an explicit reminder preference. One relative's calendar should not automatically become everyone else's notification schedule.

A practical first step
Collect the date once, review ambiguous entries, and ask each recipient whether they want reminders. Review the list annually with the relatives who maintain it.
An example to follow
Assign one person to verify a grandparent's date and another to maintain contact preferences. Keep phone numbers out of worksheets circulated beyond the family.
Keep the record useful for the next relative
Save the original item or recording, the source of each claim, and the date you added the note. Label estimates and disputed details. Decide who should have access before inviting other people to help.
